Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

Hot chocolate:
¼ cocoa powder
¼ sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
a couple drops of peppermint extract
2 cups Belfonte milk
½ cup Belfonte heavy cream
Peppermints or Candy canes

Whipped Cream:
1 cup heavy cream
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Ganache:
¼ cup heavy cream
½ cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Hot Chocolate:
In a pot over medium high heat add your Belfonte milk, cocoa powder, sugar, extracts, Belfonte heavy cream and whisk until everything is incorporated. Let heat up and combine together.

Test it with a spoon until it’s your desired temperature and taste. If it’s too bitter add a tablespoon of sugar if it’s too sweet add a tablespoon of cocoa.

Whipped Cream:
And a large bowl of your stand mixture add your heavy cream and whip until it’s stiff. Then add your powdered sugar and vanilla and whip until combined.

Chocolate ganache:
In a glass measuring cup measure out your heavy cream and heat in the microwave for one minute.

And a small bowl add your chocolate chips and pour your hot heavy cream over and let sit for a couple of minutes.

Stir until well combined.

Assemble:
Once all your components are ready add your hot chocolate into your mugs or cups top with your whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy.

Stir with a spoon full of chocolate ganache or a candy cane. Share and enjoy.
